CNPC Baoji Oilfield Machinery Co., Ltd (BOMCO) signed an agreement with Brazilian companies BRCP and ASPERBRAS in Beijing, to establish an oil equipment joint venture. CNPC Vice President Li Xinhua attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech. The JV is the first of its kind between a Chinese oil company and Brazilian companies in the oil equipment manufacturing sector.
Located in Salvador city in Bahia, Brazil, the joint venture is expected to become operational in October. BOMCO will have 34 percent of stake in the JV while BRC P and ASPERBRAS will each hold a 33 percent stake.
BOMCO is the largest oil equipment R&D and manufacturing enterprise in China. ASPERBRAS is a recognized drilling service provider for Petrobras. BRCP is a trade firm engaged in oil equipment accessory businesses.
